Marriage, Birth, Death, Criminal records and others have become open to the public and thus, called public records because of the proclamation of the Freedom to Information Act 1966. Such policy is applicable to all states although they vary from their use and treatment with regards to these records depending on the State’s laws. These public records are commonly available through either government or private sources.
